008 – Sin, Sinning, and Sinners (Romans: A Life of Faith)

This message spotlights a problem that we all have in common. We sense it. Things just aren’t right, not everything anyway. And though we seem to enjoy small celebrations of goodness at times, most of us also suspect that those are the exceptions rather than the rule.

We hold elections. We spend money. We change education or business systems. And, we do all of it in pursuit of an elusive, abiding rightness. Yet, something always seems to twist our efforts into long-term brokenness.

The Bible has a word for this phenomenon, It’s called sin, and it has the power to bend the trajectory of our humanness away from God’s shalom — his goodness, justice, and harmony. Fortunately, God has undone the power of sin through the life and obedience of Jesus Christ.
