017 – “All We Need Is Love” (Romans: A Life of Faith)
Chapter 13 contains some hard truths about submitting to authority, our attitudes towards those who rule us (especially those we may not agree with), and the attitude we are to have towards all people.
The chapter also counsels us to keep short accounts and meet our civic and financial obligations – good advice, but hardly Paul’s main point. Instead, he focuses on one kind of debt that we continually owe to one another: mutual love. As Pastor Brad points out, this requires a certain childlike loving response within a childish and unloving culture.
