Hearing God in the Wilderness, Week 4: Listening to God on the Run
Smitchell   -

When Hagar, an enslaved Egyptian serving Saria (Sarah), is given as a surrogate to Abram (Abraham) by the childless Saria, she becomes pregnant. Afterwards, Saria mistreats her and Hagar flees to the wilderness. God pursues the runaway slave into the wilderness, and two significant things happen: the Angel of the Lord shows her that she’s not just a piece of property. She is actually seen, known, loved. She also learns of her involvement in the purpose of God.

Like Hagar, it doesn’t matter where we are, God can meet us there. He can find you there. And He can do something in your “wilderness” that will send ripples of his goodness from your life into a hopeless world.
