Leviticus, Week 13 “Take a Seat”
Chapter 23 of Leviticus speaks about the rhythms of life, with festivals and sabbath rest. This is echoed throughout the Scriptures, and it’s especially apparent when we look back at Genesis where the seven-day model of creation shows that the Lord both worked and rested. This is still a model for us today. It helps us recognize our need for a balance between work and rest. We also learn that God has always done all the work, from creation to salvation. And, our ultimate “sabbath rest” is found in Jesus Christ.
