We're invited to bring our brokenness to a loving God, and it's good to do so.

I am not referring to the brokenness of sin. There is another kind without which revival will not come. A powerful church remains broken before God, continually shedding pride, self-sufficiency, and compromise. Remaining broken before God is different from confession and repentance. It goes further, deeper. It is a lament that humbles us. Why do this? God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). If we desire the renewal that manifests as revival, we must humble ourselves, acknowledging our total dependence on Him.

God reminds us that true revival often begins with deep godly sorrow and a longing for God’s presence. When we, the church, become desperate enough, God responds with mercy and power.

4/1/25 Prayer Points:

  • Break our hearts for what breaks Yours, Lord, and make us truly humble before You.

  • Strip away every ounce of pride, self-reliance, and complacency in our lives and our church.

  • Pour out a spirit of repentance and brokenness upon B4, that we may seek You with all our hearts.
