06 - "Hearing" (Miracles - Then + Now)

We begin hearing before we are born, as early as 12 weeks gestation. At six to seven months prenatal, we can hear and recognize sounds outside our mother’s body, like music and voices. At birth, we hear as well as an adult. Hearing is also one of the few senses that persist as we are seemingly unconscious prior to death. Why is it so crucial to life? Hearing connects us to the world and the people around us in profound ways. It also connects us to God, whose impulse is to commune with us — to communicate his love — which is why this week’s miracle focuses on hearing, specifically hearing from God.
