Celebration of Salvation

Jesus’ parable of the lost sheep reveals a God whose value system is radically different from ours. Jesus loves a good party and delights in people, including those we might consider undeserving. He is relentlessly focused on the joy of Heaven when the lost are found. His holiness doesn’t create distance between Him and others. In fact, it draws people near. Even better, His grace welcomes us to the table before we are “fixed,” while still inviting repentance and transformation. The challenge for us is whether we share Jesus’ delight. Will we genuinely celebrate someone else’s flourishing, welcome unlikely people to our church’s table, and join in Heaven’s joy when a lost one comes home?
