Part 2: It’s Not Sticks and Stones. It’s Life and Destruction.

As Pastor Andy points out in this message, James warns us in his letter that the tongue, though small, can set lives ablaze, especially when uncontrolled and hurtful words make religion “worthless.” On the other hand, grace-filled speech reflects the transformative work of Christ within. The wisdom James offers is crucial then because our words have the power to shape both souls and communities. That transformation isn’t merely the information we understand. It is more about the wisdom we put into practice. When we abide in Jesus, intimacy with Him shapes how we speak. When His Spirit guides us, our speech becomes an instrument of healing, truth, and spiritual encouragement.
