Matthew 19 is a chapter that is relevant for us in every way. Divorce, marriage, children and money. Matthew compacts them all in one small section. It is also a chapter about priorities and in every example we see that Jesus prizes human relationships more than any other thing. What we find in Matthew 19 is proof that we are uncommonly loved by an infinitely powerful God. A God who could choose to lavish His love and attention on anything, chooses us. And today we’ll read about a man who comes to Jesus with an interesting question which is essentially: How much do I need to do in order to secure a spot in heaven?
