Week 4: Restoring Hope: Strength and Joy

Nehemiah led a miraculous restoration of the wall of Jerusalem. The city was finally safe to live in healing, hope, freedom and flourishing. They were to return to the life of a vibrant city of God. Gatekeepers, musicians and Levites were assigned - three appointments that guard the physical, emotional and spiritual health of the city. The condition of our own body, soul and spirit can go unexamined and undetected and therefore, unserved. He knows: If we leave the new city unattended, it will fall again into disrepair. Nehemiah and Ezra call the people to examine the promises of God to respond with joy.
