(Dis) Appointed by God

Disappointment is an unavoidable part of life, whether you’re Christian or not. But often our deepest disappointments arise when our expectations of God don’t match our experience. While the Gospel never promises a trouble-free life, it does offer something greater, a living hope rooted in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christian hope is sometimes cast as denial, but it is actually a confidence in Jesus’ faithfulness, even when circumstances remain difficult. Throughout tough times, God’s Spirit makes His Love present to us, forms character, and deepens hope. We hold firmly to Jesus because, as the Bible teaches, He has overcome the world and remains faithful.
