04 – “Watchers + Seekers” (Seeing Jesus)
Smitchell   -

Jesus always responds to desperation. Always. There is not a single instance in the Gospels where someone comes to Jesus in dire circumstance and he does not respond with compassion and kindness. There are occasions where he confronts cynicism and hard-hearted unbelief sharply, seeking to correct the tragic trajectory of errant hearts, but Jesus’ response to those who are hurting is to relieve their suffering. This message features a revealing look at the desperate circumstances of a paralyzed man and the lengths to which his companions go to place him at Jesus’ feet before a stunned crowd of watchers and seekers.

If you’d like to learn more about the Bible and how to engage it for yourself, we’d recommend The Paradigm. It’s a great Bible Project podcast featuring guests discussing the core ideas that shape the way biblical authors intended for us to read the Bible.
