As Pastor Alex says in this message, “Heaven’s first public statement about the arrival of Jesus is that Good News will cause great joy for all the people.” Surprising, right? Given that Jesus arrives as Israel’s promised king, you might expect the announcement to be more like, “This is good news of great joy for the people of Israel.” But that’s not what the angelic messengers say. They’re clear that this child’s arrival is a cause of great joy for everyone.

Jesus is God’s source of joy, and the manner of his birth, life, death, and resurrection means that this joy is for all. God is for us all.
