“The Great Reversal” Easter Celebration
On the first day of the week following Jesus’ death, the 8th day, his followers approached his tomb with disappointment. Their only goal was to complete his hasty burial and mourn him properly. Nothing had prepared them to find his burial place empty, and messengers proclaiming that he had risen — despite Jesus’ teaching about his death and eventual resurrection.
