Week 2 – Held by Hope: “Vision of Christ”
Since its beginning, the Church has used creeds, dense and memorable statements of belief, to communicate and propagate its basic beliefs. This short section of Colossians fits the criteria for a confessional creed. Paul wants to underscore Christ’s supremacy, that He is first in all things. He was before all Creation. All things are made by Him and for Him. He is the head of His body, the Church, and He is preeminent in everything.
As Pastor David teaches, when we truly believe this, when its truth penetrates our hearts, we are transformed.
