Week 5 – Held by Hope: “Made Alive”
Smitchell   -

You were dead, but God made you alive. That simple, shocking truth is the hub on which this week’s passage turns. The “you” is plural. It includes all who read that original letter. It also has something to say about our lives.

We are dead apart from God, our Creator. We possess a relatively brief physical life, but it ends. From the moment we reach full adult maturity, we inevitably march to a certain grave. However, Colossians teaches that both Jesus’ triumph on the Cross and his Resurrection mean the grave does not have the final say. Christ does, and he makes us alive.
